Devil May Cry Classics Vanish from Steam's Arsenal

In a surprising turn of events, two iconic entries in the Devil May Cry franchise have mysteriously disappeared from the digital storefront powerhouse, Steam. As first reported by the vigilant Wario64 on X (formerly Twitter), both Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition and Devil May Cry 4 have been delisted, leaving fans puzzled and questioning the reasons behind their sudden absence.

The only silver lining amidst this devilish disappearance is that Devil May Cry 4 Special Edition, launched in 2015 as an enhancement to the 2008 original, is still standing tall on the platform. Meanwhile, Devil May Cry 3 can now only be experienced through the Devil May Cry HD Collection, a compilation released on Steam in 2018.

The veil of uncertainty shrouds the circumstances surrounding this unexpected removal from the Steam lineup. While the games may have vanished in their standalone forms, the enigma remains as they persist in other iterations on the digital store.

Eurogamer has reached out to Capcom, the powerhouse behind the Devil May Cry series, for some much-needed clarification on the matter. Until then, fans are left to speculate on the fate of these beloved titles and the reasons behind their abrupt removal.

It's essential to note that not all hope is lost for Devil May Cry enthusiasts. Amidst the upheaval, other titles from the franchise, including Devil May Cry 5 and DmC: Devil May Cry, still stand tall on Steam. This means that, despite the disappearance of Devil May Cry 3 and Devil May Cry 4, there's still an opportunity to experience the adrenaline-pumping saga in some form or another.
