Fallout: Nuevo México Returns with New Trailer After Months of Uncertainty

Good news for Fallout fans—there's a brand-new trailer for Fallout: Nuevo México, following months of concern that the project might be canceled. The three-minute trailer offers a fresh glimpse at the ambitious game-sized mod, which aims to revitalize Fallout: New Vegas with a whole new setting.

Fallout: Nuevo México is shaping up to be even more ambitious than Fallout: London, a similar mod recently released on the Fallout 4 platform. However, developing Nuevo México using Fallout: New Vegas' older engine has presented more challenges compared to working with the tools available in Fallout 4.

Viva México

Earlier this year, doubts arose about the future of Nuevo México when the mod’s lead developer, Zapshock, left the project, putting it on "indefinite hold." This news followed the indefinite cancellation of Fallout: London, another highly anticipated mod for Fallout 4. However, while Fallout: London was eventually released just weeks later, Nuevo México remained silent for months—until now. The latest trailer helps to ease fears that the mod might never see the light of day. According to the official synopsis on YouTube:

"Mexico City is the largest city in North America and serves as the central hub in Fallout: Nuevo México. While still in development, we are excited to reveal this iconic wasteland. Once the vibrant heart of a bustling metropolis, Mexico City is now a decayed battleground for factions fighting for survival. From the crumbling colonia of Chapultepec to the flooded canals of Xochimilco, the city offers a haunting blend of beauty and devastation."

Though the update doesn't address the recent hiatus or the months of silence, it's clear that the project is back on track—and from what we've seen, it looks stunning.
