How to Unlock "Mentor" Status in Final Fantasy XIV

In Final Fantasy XIV, the Mentor status is an exclusive privilege reserved for seasoned players. Those who meet the qualifications can display the mentor status icon beside their name tag and provide guidance to newer players.

Mentors and novices alike have access to the Novice Network chat system. If a player declines the initial invitation or leaves the Network, they can rejoin using the command /nnetwork on. Novice status, signified by a "sprout" icon, is automatically assigned to players with less than 168 hours of playtime and who haven't completed the quest "A Requiem for Heroes." It can be manually deactivated with the /nastatus command, but once removed, players cannot regain novice status.

To attain mentor status, players must:

  • Complete the role quest lines for tank, healer, and one DPS role in Endwalker. Job-specific Lv90 quests are not necessary.

  • Fulfill 1,000 instanced duties.

  • Receive 1500 player commendations.
