If you remember, there was speculation months ago about Indiana Jones and the Great Circle being released on PS5, but it seemed to fizzle out—until now. The rumor has finally come full circle. The rumors are true! Bethesda's AAA game Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, featuring a de-aged Harrison Ford, is officially coming to the PS5. This major announcement was made during Gamescom’s Opening Night Live presentation, providing a thrilling conclusion to the event.
While the Xbox version is set to release earlier on December 9 this year, it’s cold comfort for Xbox Series X|S owners, who have been craving more exclusive titles. With this game heading to PS5, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Microsoft consider launching other big AAA franchises on competing platforms.
Indy’s latest quest takes him from the Vatican's hallowed halls and the sunken temples of Sukhothai to the Egyptian pyramids and the snowy peaks of the Himalayas. Racing against time, he hunts down powerful and mysterious artifacts. But Indy isn’t alone—alongside his ally Gina, he faces off against Voss and his men, all vying for the secrets of these relics.
An intercepted message leads Indiana and Gina to Nepal, where they search for an artifact hidden deep within the Himalayas. Their perilous trek through the mountains reveals a frozen battleship nestled among the peaks—just one of the many breathtaking locations on their adventure.
Captured by Gantz, Indy and Gina must fight for their lives aboard the battleship, but their battle is abruptly interrupted as the ship breaks free and careens down the mountainside. Known for their high-stakes action, MachineGames delivers another intense set piece, reminding us that Indy’s arsenal includes more than just his wits—sometimes he’ll need his fists, whip, gun, or even a well-timed grenade toss from a companion.
“Working with Indiana Jones makes you want to draw inspiration from the iconic set-pieces that thrilled you as a kid,” says Game Director Jerk Gustafsson. “We all remember the excitement of Indy’s daring, narrow escapes, and we’re aiming to recreate those moments in The Great Circle.”
This news shakes things up for both Xbox and PlayStation players. Stay tuned—we’ll keep you informed if more Xbox titles are confirmed for release on PlayStation.
